Why is the saxophone the best instrument to add to a wedding?
Every wedding is different. Every couple have their own unique tastes and ideas. Every wedding location brings it’s own atmosphere. The one consistent trait ALL weddings have is (drum-roll please). They all need a saxophone performance!
Now my view may be slightly biased, but I have experienced first-hand how the saxophone can add to a wide range of weddings. From a Classical performance during a traditional wedding ceremony, to an adrenaline-fueled Ibiza themed wedding reception alongside a DJ.
Why is this?
It’s science… the saxophone has the tonal quality closest to the human voice, when played melodically.
What does this mean?
Whenever you can fit a singer, or song, you can schedule a saxophone performance!
Why not just book a singer then?
You can and I provide a number of fantastic singers for weddings. The big advantage the saxophone has, is that you have the same melodies played without the distractions of WORDS.
The key for any performance during a wedding is to enhance the atmosphere, without being a distraction. Now that doesn’t mean entertainers should hide in a dark corner and play super quietly, as there’s a lot to be gained from a strong, interactive performance.
A good example is the signing of the register. This formality can be given a beautiful sound backdrop, avoiding any awkward silences, but not being too much of a distraction from the moment that is taking place.
